*******ATTENTION******* Time Correction--The Mt. Union Fish-Fry on Sept. 12 will begin at 4:30 pm, not 6:30 pm as previously published.
Mount Union Methodist Church in Scottsville and Pastor Chuck Pruitt have invited our entire Emmaus Community to join their congregation for a Fish-Fry, time of fellowship, and an auction for Methodist Women afterward on Saturday night, Sept. 12, 2009 at 4:30 pm. Because this is a regular gathering date for our community, we will NOT meet at Christ United Methodist Church in Bowling Green as usual, but encourage everyone to accept Mount Union's gracious invitation. Please come and visit with their congregation as well as familiar Emmaus faces. It will be a wonderful time of sharing...Fellowship and Fish! If you like, you can take a side dish or dessert.
We currently have no Emmaus Walk dates scheduled for 2009, but are anticipating Spring 2010 Walk Dates. Please pray about sponsoring someone at that time. We will continue to build our Fourth Day community by attending gatherings the 2nd Saturday night of each month at 7:00 PM at Christ United Methodist Church in Bowling Green. Please come and share our worship, singing, Fourth Day speakers, and light snacks. Also, please continue to form and attend your Reunion Groups. Let us remember the blessings of our own Emmaus Walks.
COMMUNITY NEEDS
PRAYER FOR OUR EMMAUS COMMUNITY AND CHURCHES.
Bed and table agape. It takes 60 pieces of each agape item per Walk. No individual names on the items... only reunion group, church name, or anonymous.
New and gently used books with a Christian theme, devotionals, Guideposts and other Christian magazines, Bibles in any translation, Christian tapes and CDs, book marks, notepads, and even religious children's books and coloring books. Ask your church families for help in collecting books for the book table. :-)
Snack and food agape for Thursday and Friday nights would be appreciated by the kitchen staff.

Dates to Remember 2010 Due to the low temps and dangerous road conditions, the Sat. night's Emmaus gathering (January 9th) has been cancelled. Please contact your Reunion groups and church friends of the cancellation. The remainder of the schedule for 2010 will be posted as soon as possible.
