Most people who end up at this website will be people who are looking for information on the Bowling Green Emmaus community. However, a few of our visitors may have ended up here totally by "accident". The Bible tells us that everything that happens in this world happens for a reason. If you are one of those people who have found themselves here by accident, then there could be any number of reasons for that...

Maybe you are a Christian who has never heard of Emmaus, and this is God's way of introducing you to this amazing movement. Maybe you have a preconceived notion concerning Emmaus and God wants to use something here to set your mind at ease. Maybe you have never opened yourself up to Jesus and have no intentions of doing that now... And maybe... just maybe... God brought you here to read this...

Many people never invite God into their lives. Some think that if they are a good person and live a good life, they have nothing to fear. Some keep thinking someday they will start a new life with God, but end up waiting until it is too late. There are even some people who, no matter what evidence you put in front of them, still don't believe in the gifts God is offering to them.

The Bible tells us that God has a home waiting for us in heaven. Jesus promised, "In my Father's house are many rooms...I am going there to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come back and take you to be where I am." John 14:2-3 (NIV)

For those who accept their place in the kingdom of heaven, it is written that once they get there, "...God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain..." Rev. 21:4 (KJV)

If you would like to reserve your place in God's kingdom, but just don't know how to go about it, please continue reading as it is really quite simple.

"If you confess with your mouth "Jesus is Lord" and believe that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved." Romans 10:9 (NIV)

When you are ready to accept what God is offering to you, all you have to do is to say the following prayer or something similar:

Dear Lord, I know that I am a sinner and I come to you now to ask for your forgiveness. I know that Jesus Christ was your son, and that He died on the cross in order to pay for the sins I have commited. I know that on the third day, you raised Him from the dead and I know with all my heart he will someday return. I accept you as my Lord and Savior and invite you to come into my heart and into my life and teach me to be the kind of person you have always wanted me to be. Thank you so much for your gifts of love and forgiveness and everlasting life. In the precious name of Jesus Christ I pray, Amen."

Many people will never say this prayer just because they don't believe they are worthy of such a wonderful gift; that some act they have committed in the past is so terrible that they don't deserve to be saved, but they are wrong. Their sins have been paid for already through the blood of Jesus Christ.

"For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life." John 3:16 (KJV)

If you just prayed the above prayer and have accepted the Lord into your life, we would like to hear from you. Please click on the "Contact" link to the left and let us share in your good news. "You were once darkness, but now you are light in the Lord. Live as children of the Light." Eph. 5:8 (NIV)
